Why Dance?

Participation in dance improves physical, mental, and social health. The Vancouver Friends for Life is offering 3 months of dance classes at Scotia Bank Dance Centre starting in January 2023 for all our cis- and trans-women living with chronic or life challenging condition. This dance program was co-created by a team including, members of the HIV+ community and the Groovement Dance Program. Support is provided by the Fitness, Aging, and Stress (FAST) lab at the University of British Columbia, led by the Principal Investigator Dr. Eli Puterman in the School of Kinesiology.  Funding for this program comes from the Canadian Institutes for Health Research.

Please complete the online physical assessment form found here.
